For this piece, I was inspired by the imagery in the book of Revelation. “A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet…” This woman in Revelation is about to give birth to her son while a huge dragon with seven heads waits to devour him. But God protects them both, taking the son up to Himself and preparing a place for the woman. Then the battle between Satan and the angels begins.

In our culture, the protection of women and the unborn is so needed. This truly is the battle of our day. All around there seems to be images and agendas that attack and devalue life, true femininity and the vocation of motherhood. May we all continue to pray for and support those who bring life into this world and remember that the victory has already been won by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
